What's theory worth in the real world?

– About three recent developments in entrepreneurship research

Tid: Onsdag 17 september 2008, 14.00-15.30
Plats: IVAs konferenscenter, Grev Turegatan 16 , Stockholm
Talare: Professor Kevin Hindle, Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, Swinburne University of Technology

Kort om föreläsningen: - How do you teach the unlearnable (i.e. entrepreneurship) to the unteachable?
- Whats the essence of entrepreneurship?
- What is an entrepreneurial environment?

Professor Kevin Hindle will discuss these three quite different, but still interconnected, topics. He suggests that the teaching of entrepreneurship at universities challenges many perspectives and procedures that feature prominently in the curriculum of many of them.

Hindle is also engaged in a continuing quest to discover the absolute essence of entrepreneurship. He wants to answer the twin questions: What is common to every act of entrepreneurship? And what features distinguish entrepreneurial behaviour from every other form of behaviour particularly management behaviour?

Lastly, Professor Hindle will talk about the entrepreneurial environment. He is a passionate believer in the importance of understanding how contextual variables influence the conduct of entrepreneurship.

So if you are interested in entrepreneurial education, entrepreneurial capabilities and/or the entrepreneurial environment, this seminar will have something to interest you. Kevin Hindle will present his ideas in these three challenging areas as succinctly as possible and then throw the seminar over to wide-ranging discussion.

Please note that the lecture will be held in English.
