Estrad April 4: The death of business models

The death of business models occurred in January 2004 when Alexander Osterwalder defended his dissertation which sparked “the business model canvas movement”. The canvas and lean models became the dominant tools in the global startup world and, argues Terrence Brown, subsequently killed much of the conceptual development on business models, and deep thinking on venture creation. During this lecture Brown will address questions like: Has the canvas won the battle or the entire war? Can we move forward, and if so how? Are there other methods one can use to start a business? And the winners are...

Finally we can announce the winners in our thesis competition "Nytt&Nyttigt". First prize goes to Erik Leijon and Joanda Svenheden, University of Gothenburg. Second prize goes to Frida Foreby, Majken Tammisto and Rickard Åberg, Lund University. Third prize is shared between two teams: Frida Magnusdotter Ivarsson and Sara Frykman, University of Gothenburg, and Linnea Carlsson and Caroline Johansson, Royal Institute of Technology. The prize ceremony was a part of Vinnova's Innovation Day January 26th.
