Reflections on Feminist Research: Understanding Women Business Owners in Contemporary Times

Researcher
Kristina Bourne, doktorand från University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA.

About the research seminar
As a doctoral student, Kristina has tried to bring more feminist theory into the study of entrepreneurship and gender. In this seminar, she will detail her movement from a focus on women entrepreneurs as the last bastion of 'feminist organizations' from the 70s towards a more complicated understanding of the research process itself from a postmodern feminist perspective on approaches to fieldwork. Finally, she will describe her current project, which uses comparative analyses, making connections between organizational approaches and the gendered social/cultural/political context in which these practices and understandings of these practices are embedded.
