Meet the 2009/2010 participants

The PhD students participating 2009/2010 have already devoted time and energy to an intensive and challenging course. From 27 applicants 20 were selected by a selection committé. Meet some of the 2009/2010 participants below:
Helgi Nolsøe

Name: Helgi Nolsøe

Background: Born and living in the Faroe Islands. Was educated as a motor mechanic and a marine engineer before graduating as MSc. in Fish Technology. I have worked with fisheries research for more than 13 years. My main research area is improved yield and better utilization of fish raw-material.

Why did you apply for this course?
I see this course as a great opportunity to take my work from research to business. That was the reason I applied.

What have you learned so far that surprised you?
The importance of demand is not a surprise, but the difficulty getting investors is a challenge.

How do you think this course will help you develop your idea?
I think this course will help me to understand the requirements of getting from research to business.

Would you recommend other to take this course, in that case why?
Everybody working with business ideas they plan to realize, should get the opportunity to take this course.
